Lucy
Office Administrator, Bachelor of Business, Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care
I have worked at BCCC for over 2 years, but my ties to the Centre start from when I attended the Centre as a child, and through the years with my two boys attending the centre. I went back to University to study social work at the start of 2022 and decided to change occupations to make the work/study/mum life balance more manageable. I am grateful that I have been able to job share the role in the office with Trish. I enjoy spending time in the rooms with the children from time to time, but also helping families with any queries they have in regards to their child’s care or accounts, as well as managing the administration side of the business.

Ellie
Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood)
I have been working at BCCC full-time since Feb 2024 in the Jingi Walla room.
Hailing from small town Rangiora, New Zealand, I began my teaching journey in 2011 quickly finding immense joy in the day-to-day life of being an ECE teacher. Over the years I have explored a diverse range of early childhood settings including stints as a nanny overseas, several different roles in long day care and alpine mountain based childcare centres both in New Zealand and Canada where we would teach children to ski.
Surprisingly, what brought me to Australia was the snow. After finishing working a winter season in Thredbo in 2021 I moved to Northern Rivers wanting to continue my career in teaching. Working alongside my wee friends and their families is such a privilege, I love to be a part of building trusting relationships, the daily rituals and caretaking routines of babies and toddlers and seeing the world through their eyes. I continue to strive towards embracing a slow pedagogy; being a witness to learning, focusing on a holistic approach, prioritising active listening and observing their unique ways of communicating.
